You enter Maison du Moulin through a little hallway where the WC and staircase are located.
On the ground floor there is the living / dining room with a table and a corner with comfy chairs around the wood-burning stove that can be used with its doors open. The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, refrigerator and microwave.
There is enough cutlery, pots and pans for all your needs.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed which can be separated into two singles and a large cupboard. All beds are made up for you, so no need to bring any linen. The other bedroom has two separate single beds. There is bathroom with a shower, basin and WC. The house has been decorated with care.
The terrace has a direct view over the lake.
Exterior
Maison de Moulin lies in a forest right on the lake with a little brook and waterfall, one kilometre from the hamlet of Montpensy at 4km from Ouroux en Morvan, where you will find all the necessary shops, a doctor and a pharmacy. The Gîte lies directly near the lake and is perfect for fishing on carps and truite. Fishrights are included in the rentalrate.
Things to do locally
The Morvan is a paradise for hikers and walkers. The famous route to Santiago de Compstello runs through our back yard, and there are many other marked routes for walker and mountain bikes.
For the more sporty among you, it is possible to raft on a wild water river, and our lake is ideally suited for water sports for your children. Nearby you can find old towns and villages such as Chataeu Chinon, Vezelay and Autun. Here you can visit their museums, cathedrals and off course the ancient Celtic/Roman excavations of Bibracte.
The Parc Naturel Regional du Morvan offers a beautiful natural environment and has been developed to a major tourist attraction of the region.
If it rains… no problem. In the house you’ll board games and other things to enjoy indoors.

Montpensy lies in the Bourgogne region, home of very famous wines. Just 50km away lies Chablis, famous for its white wine. In Saulieu you can dine in the Michelin-starred famous restaurant l’Oiseau, and there are many other restaurants and auberges in the vicinity where you are made very welcome.
