The gîte is beautiful and very peacefully situated in/near village.
Surroundings mostly hills.
A local contact person is available and he/she speaks Dutch, English, French and German.

In this big holydayhome, with lots of ambiance, you feel as if you are at home.
The sphere full big living kitchen, (30m2), is provide with all the comfort you want in a holyday home.
In the kitchen you find an oven, microwave, dishwasher, wood-burning stove.
In the hallway is the toilet and the bathroom.
There is a salon with lots os cubbard space.
There are two bedrooms with comfortable kingsized beds.
As our guests you also have use of a section of the garden which has a peaceful and attractive view over the local countryside, whilst also having use of our little swimming pool to cool down in.

Limoge airport: 3 hours.

Residence Ambert is a big house (mas) from the 9th century (compleet restaurated), it is situated in the little village Saint Grat. Residence Ambert is lying in the centre of Saint Grat, at the backside you have a beautifull view over the countryside.
The house was for centuries a farmhouse and it was formed out of two houses and later extended, at the backside you have a beautifull view over the countryside.
Saint Grat is a picturesque Occitane village from the middle ages where time feels as if it has stood still. At certain times of the day you can see shepherds and their sheep walking to the fields. St Grat is located in the sunny south-west of France in the department of Aveyron around 75 minutes north west of Toulouse. It is also near the towns of Villefranche de Rouergue, Cahors, Figeac, Rodez, Montauban and Albi. Situated near to the spectacular Averyron gorges, St Grat is in a prime location for sporting, historical and cultural excursions. In a 50km radius lie several villages that have been nominated as some of the most beautiful villages in France, namely St Cirque la Popie, Conques, Estaing, La Couvertoirade, Cordes, Najac, and Belcastel. Interesting historical sites also include the caves of Perche-Merle and Foissac, Castle Bosc, castle Cas and the castle of Reine Margot are all worth a visit, as are the Abbeys of Beaulieu and Loc Dieu, both a stone’s throw from the Ambert Residence. local medieval villages are dotted around the area such as Villefranche and Rouergue which also have weekly markets on a Thursday (13km away). Things to do locally
All kinds of outdoor sports are seasonally available in the villages and towns around St Grat. There is a 9 holes golfcours only 15 minutes away. The village also arranges small and large medieval festivals with plays, singing and music. Antique and brocante markets run throughout the summer season. We have already mentioned the traditional Thursday markets at Villefranche and Rouergue. In addition to these, there are markets on a Saturday in Figeac, and on Sundays in St Antonin Noble in Limoges. These markets are larger and full of local specialities among their diverse offerings. The area is famous for its culinary specialities such as Magret de Canard (duck), Veau d’Aveyron (veal), duck liver pate, Alligot (cheesy potatoes), truffles and walnuts. Ten kilometers to the west of Cahors there are many interesting castles with wine cellars and vineyards to explore.
