The surface of the house is about 200 m2, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
In the summer we put a childrens swimmingpool (3 m diameter, a quick-up-pool ) in the garden.
Ground level: (garden) 3 spacious bedrooms beside the garden, bathroom with shower and wash stand and toilet. A washing room with washer, dryer, freezer and enough space to hang out laundry indoors. The bedrooms ( with 50cm thick stone wall) are cool in the summer.
First floor: (main entrance) Hall, large livingroom (5x6m) with fireplace, dining-kitchen (5x8), master bedroom with kingsize bed, attached bathroom (bathtub, wash stand and toilet). Glass-coverd balcony on the South next to the livingroom and dinging-kitchen with magnificent view and staircase leading to the garden. Several cars can be parked within the gate. The garden surrounding the house is fenced and there is a small playing cabin in the garden. A covered veranda leaves space to park bycicles.
There are many nice sitting area in the garden with nice view over the valley.
The house is simple and comfortable. The fireplace (woodburning) can be used. During spring (from march, lots of flowers) and autumn (several shades of leaves) the area is also superb. Fruit in our gardens: apples in september, october. Figs in september. Grapes in september/ october. The garden and balcony are situated on the South, allowing to enjoy the outdoors untill very late in the season.
There is plenty of wooden garden furniture.
The house is equipped with all necessary machinery, such as washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, deep-fry machine, t.v., radio, cd and dvd equipment.
There is a baby cot and a high-chair present.
Exterior
The house is located in the heart of the Dordogne, the “Perigord Noir”. It is close to beautiful and pittureque villages, such as Molieres and Cadouin (apx. 2km). This is where you can get your fresh baguettes in the morning. There are many recreational possibilities in the neighborhood, such as canooing, golfing, tennis and horseback riding.
The house offers a lot of privacy, situated in the middle of 5 ha of land, surrounded by a forest considered as natural monument. Great for hikers and nature lovers.
All rooms, terraces and the garden have magnificent view and are situated on the South.
Due to the special location and the varied flora, there are also many cool pic-nic spots for the warmer days. Garden picnics are absolutely lovely. For kids the stretched garden is a true adventure: forest, meadows, and even a small lake to fish in!
Between the house and the lake, there is a small road, with very little traffic. A sweat stream also passes through the property, offering great playground. The house is simply yet cosily furnished.
In the summer, you can dine untill late in the evening on the balcony. (On the South, covered and fairly protected).
A lot of animals can be seen and heard, such as dear, squirrels, birds etc. It’s great to see the prey birds and herons in action, taking out fish from the lake! There is also a possibility to barbecue outdoors.
Things to do locally
Walks can start from the garden or even from the housedoor. It is situated is in the middel of a beautiful (protected) natural area. Swimming is possible on the numerous beautiful beaches of the Dordogne (These can be very stretched,) but there are also a number of public swimming pools in the neighborhood, such as the one in Lalinde (apx. 10 km).
There is near Cadouin a lake for swimming and picnick with a nice sandy beach, prox. 5 km of our house.
Canoeing nearby can be combined with swimming in the river the Dordogne or Vezere.
Several excursions can be made to many pre-historic caves, market places, pitturesque villages, fortress towns, ”bastides” and castles. Because of the slightly hilly area, it is also a great environment for mountain biking.
In spring, summer and autumn there are always several activities in the nearby located villages, such as flower and antique markets, food and wine festivities, concerts, guided tours etc..

The area offers many possibilities for great and affordable dining. The local Bergerac wine is outstanding. Not to mention that the house is located only half an hour’s drive from the famous Bordeaux vineyards, where you can buy wine directly at the Chateaux. Special wine festivities are frequently held in the area.
