Built in 1869 this tasteful barn conversion retains many of its original features including exposed beams and butter coloured stone walls. Creature comforts are plentiful with under-floor central heating, english satellite television, video, cd and radio, books and a fully equipped kitchen. There are games for inside and out. The oak staircase leads to three bedrooms built into the eaves. The bathroom has a walk in shower. The toilet is separate. When the sun shines a wander through the french doors leads into the garden with its walled terrace where you can soak up the sun or relax in the shade of the Platin tree.

| The cottage is situated close to the Lot - Dordogne border, just 3 kms from the picturesque town of Gourdon and only 20 minutes drive from medieval Sarlat in the Dordogne. Gourdon is a bustling place with bakers, markets, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and a cinema! Molieres provides the ideal base for exploring the beautiful Lot and Dordogne valleys. There are so many places easily visited from Molieres that to name Sarlat, Domme, Rocamoadour, Grottes de Cougnac, Les Eyzies, St Cirq La Popie and Beynac is to name but a few. Perhaps a gentle potter around the quiet lanes on a bike appeals but of course relaxing and sitting still in the sun is also possible!

Just 2 km away are the lakes ’Ecoute s’il Pleut’ for swimming, boating and fishing. The name means ’listen if it rains, originating from a mill which only operated when it rained enough to swell the river. There is another lake at Grolejac, towards Sarlat, just before the river Dordogne where you can fish, swim and canoe. There is excellent lake fishing at both Gourdon and Payrignac, a beautiful village with an superb restaurant on the side of the lake and tennis courts. Both within 5 minutes drive...or slightly longer on a bicycle.
At Molieres are many maps of the area to help navigate the already well signposted walks and bike trails. Fishing permits are available from Gamm Vert (garden centre) in Gourdon.
