Our authentic and beautifully free located farmhouse was built in 1780 and was totally renovated in 2001. The house is very luxurious and fully equipped to accommodate 4 people.
The entrance leads to an spacious kitchen with exposed pale stone walls. There is a washing machine, a large kitchen table, a refrigerator, microwave, cooker with extractor hood and a coffee machine. The kitchen has a large fireplace with a wood-burning stove.
Next to the kitchen is a very nice living room, also with nice exposed stone walls. The roof still has original oak roof beams and a large ”Quercy”-style fireplace with a big wood-burning stove.
There is a satellite TV and stereo set with CD player in the living room.
On the first floor lies a bathroom and two bedrooms. The biggest of the bedrooms has an original Basque double bed (140cmx200cm). The other bedroom has two single beds (80cmx200cm)
The bathroom is ”Provençale” style : all blue with white fittings. There is a shower, a basin and a toilet.
The farmhouse has a uniquely beautiful view over the ”Theze” valley. There is a big terrace (40m²) with deckchairs, a garden table, a parasol and a barbecue.
The whole property (4500m²) is fenced and can be closed off by a gate.( for children and/or dog) You have a maximum of privacy

The department of the Lot is in the Quercy. This is a region bordering the Perigord to the north and the Auvergne to the east. South of the Quercy lies the Armagnac region.
Our gîte is north of the river Lot in an area called ‘haute Quercy’ and boasts a great variety of landscapes and culture. The climate is influenced by the Atlantic, the Pyrenees and the Massif Central, which leads to warm summers and mild winters. The holiday season can last from the beginning of March to the end of October. Autumn is an especially lovely time of year.
The valley of the Lot has both beautiful natural attractions and a lot of culture. It is one of the oldest inhabited areas in France. In 1999 prehistoric caves were discovered here.
The region is teeming with bird life, and you can find thousands of different insects and flowers. If you look carefully you’ll find many different fossils.
These impressive surroundings guarantee a nice, relaxing holiday in the most beautiful part of France.

The town of Fumel lies 8 kms from the gîte and has all the shops you need : several big supermarkets, butcher’s, bakery etc. Just 2.5 km from the gîte, in the village of Montcabrier there is a traditional baker with a small shop for other necessities.There is also a nice tennis-court in the village.
Several walks, both long and short, start at the farmhouse. You can walk parts of the old pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostella in Spain – an old Pilgrims’ chapel still exists 3km from the gîte.
There is a nice Saturday market in the village of Prayssac. Nearby you can hire a canoe and organise day trips. Horse-riding and mountain-biking are all within 15 minutes.
In Frayssinet you can even swim in a river fed by a well.You vcan also swim in Cazals and Catus
While you are here you shouldn’t miss visiting Puy- L’Eveque.

The world famous wine town of Cahors is a 40-minute drive away. It is a lively town well worth visiting.
The département of the Lot is renowned for its many little restaurants. The cuisine is believed to be one of the best in France. The Quercy has a lot of gourmet specialities like ‘Confit de Canard’ and ‘Magret de Canard’ and is also well known for its fine baking.
