There are 3 gîtes in the surrounding buildings next to the chateau; ’le Fournil”, ”le Haras” and ”l’Orangerie”. The first gîte of 140m² (6-7 pers.) is called ”le Fournil” because part of it was for centuries the bakery for the chateau. It consists of an old house with a downstairs and an upstairs level. On the downstairs level there is a big cosy kitchen in wich you can eat and stay. There is also a large living room with a fireplace and a bakery-oven, with walls of the local stones and two french windows giving you access to the terrace.
The second level consists of three bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed(200x180), desk and closet. Beside the bedroom is the bathroom having a bath, massage-shower and washing stand and an other seperate space with a washing stand. The second bedroom has two single beds and a wardrobe. The third bedroom has a double bed and a wardrobe. All the rooms have large French windows which look out onto the beautifull terrace and surrounding parc-grounds. The house is very inspiring furnished with antique stuff and a lot of attention for details. But mostly you will stay outside, because of the wonderful micro-climate that is never too cold and never too warm.
There is also a gîte (4 pers.) in the old Orangerie totaly seperated from the first one (see photo with the big lamps) with his own private terras, looking over the park and the ”cour”. This gîte is a little bit smaller (specially the kitchen) but also the price. It is a real expereance to be in this gîte.
And finaly there is a very special gîte for 8 persons in an old horse-stable. There are bikes for everyone, barbecues, games and toys. You will find everything you need for a perfect holiday. The large swimmingpool (heated) in a surrounding paradise with hugh trees and nice smelling flowers will invite you to dream away with a good glas of cool bourgondien wine.
Exterior
The Gîtes de charme are restored in the old buildigs next to the Chateau de Préty. The park is surrounded by an old wall and consist of fully established parkland with swimming-pool (6x12m.), terrasses, flowers, very old trees, lawns and landscape views over to the river Saône.
Préty is a classic French village with a 14th century church, a bakery, café and post office. It is situated in a region famous for its Burgundy wines and its high quality restaurants. Préty is also surrounded by beautiful nature reserves with little lakes and forests.
The river Saône which separates Préty from Tournus is fantastic for swimming, fishing, boating or just for having a picnic on the riverbank.
Tournus is a typical French tourist town with numerous restaurants, shops and cafés with outside terraces. It has ancient streets and a 13th century abbey and old clostery buildings which holds constantly changing art exhibitions.
Not far from Tournus you will find the rolling hills covered in vineyards and many “caves” (vineyards) in chateaux and secluded villages.
Things to do locally
Swimming, bushwalking, cycling (Le Chemin vert), horse-riding, golf (public golf course: La Salle), visiting chateaux, caves, grottes(caves) and historical towns. Or you can rent a boat in a neighbouring village, La Truchère.

The region Saône et Loire is renowned for its Burgundy cuisine and its fine restaurants of all levels.
There are numerous vineyards and wine chateaux in the surrounding area where you can drink the best Burgundy wines.

The Gîte de Charme de Préty offers you complete privacy and the grounds of the Chateau are only open to guests.
