Exterior
Belvès is a picturesque medieval village in a hilly area (in the Perigord Noir) about 5km from the river Dordogne. They call it: ‘un des plus beaux villages de France’. You can swim, canoe, golf ,make beautiful walks. Belvès is a village rich in art and culture, known for its Bach festival. Summertime is full of markets, brocantes/vide greniers. There are caves and fantastic gardens to visit in the area (Lascaux etc.) and so many castles of course like the famous chateaux de Beynac, Montfort, Biron. Many restaurants are within walking distance from your house but there are others nearby to try. Although we are in the centre of town, the location is peaceful. Local specialties include truffles, foie gras, nuts and known wines like Monbazillac.

Other remarks
Our house is privately owned, built ‘en pierre’ with many classical elements like large oak beams and supporting pillars and a grand open fireplace (140cm wide). There is no garden but we have 2 wonderful patio’s, one is roof topped and the other is situated in the sun. The house less suitable for small children . There is central heating throughout. We prefer non-smokers indoors.
