In September and October we have a very atractive ‘after summer’ arrangement, just as our spring arrangement for the months of April, May and June. Just ask us for a special price for a minimum of 4 weeks and discover the beautiful countryside of the Correze
Interior
This former barn was completely renovated 15 years ago. La Grande is now a spacious holiday home, which has a big living room with a beautiful open fireplace, and a lovely kitchen with a traditional large dining table. The living room has doors that open onto the terrace and garden and doors that lead to the balcony and swimming pool. There is one toilet downstairs and upstairs there is a bath with a sink, another toilet and two large bedrooms. One bedroom has doors with a view over the garden and the other has doors onto a balcony with brilliant views over the nearby surrounding hills.
Exterior
Miege-Dame is a hamlet on the edge of the Corrèze, the Dordogne and about 10 km from Terrasson on the Vezere River. The area contains many interesting historic sites as well as the famous ’Jardins de l’Imaginaire’. In addition to supermarkets, shops and restaurants there is a weekly market where local farmers and artisans sell their produce. The area is one of rural calm, beautiful hills and fabulous views. Lovely villages and towns like Perpezac-le- Blanc with its very ancient bakery, Saint Robert, Yssandon, Hautefort, Collognes-la-Rouge, Montignac, Sarlat and Brive are within easy reach.
Things to do locally
Whether you prefer to have a glass of wine on a cosy terrace of an interesting town, or visit the unique prehistoric museum in Les Eyzies. Or perhaps go walking or rafting along the Dordogne, the area has something for everyone to make their dream holiday come true.
Following activities possible nearby (max 30 minutes by car)
There are many places in the area to go and eat or have a drink. In Terrasson there is a McDonalds. ”Chez Madame Nadine Borel” in Ayen is basic and homely as well as good value for money. For those who want something a little more chic , there are also various up-market restaurants in Terrasson. Toasted sandwiches and crepes are also widely available nearby. Perhaps you would like to fill up your ”empties” with delicious local Bergerac wine from a barrel? This is quite possible in Terrasson as well as buying wine from one of the many shops and cellars around.
Other remarks
La Grande is one of De Plus Belles, three free-standing homes in a complex of 2000m2. La Petit, a picturesque former baker’s house form 1896, is also for hire and La Maison is the only one of De Plus Belles that is permanently lived in. All guests in De Plus Belles are invited to swim in the sun-heated 12 by 5 meters swimming pool whenever the need arises. There is also plenty of space for guests to relax in the grounds after a days hiking.
