Enjoy the peace and a great view. The holiday home (the French call it a Gîte) is at the top of a big hill. From here you have a wonderful view over vineyards and the valley of Anglars. In the secluded garden you can enjoy the privacy and drink a glass of Cahors wine or read a book in the shade of a large oak tree or just doze off. At the back there is a good spot for having breakfast.
Although renovated the house still has a 17th century atmosphere to it. The spacious living room with exposed stone walls, has a welcoming solid fuel stove. Cooking is no problem. The kitchen has a 4-burner stove, an oven, fridge and coffee maker. And the sink? ... it used to be a drinking trough!
The bedroom is romantically decorated and has a boxspring double bed. A door opens straight out onto the garden. The bathroom has a spacious shower and a separate toilet is provided.
A well filled wine rack is there to be used for a small fee. The first bottle is on the house! You will also find a radio/cassette/CD player so you can listen to your favourite music.
The fridge has a supply of tasty snacks, a run to the supermarket is not immediately needed. Their exact nature is a surprise... Don’t bring eggs, our chickens take care of that : (thanks, “ladies”).

Five hectares (12 acres) of space and maximum privacy.
The land is situated, as already mentioned, at the top of a big hill. Besides our private residence there is another 4/5 person gîte. The houses are a good distance apart. You have the maximum amount of privacy without being far away from everyday life. There is a 10m x 4m swimming pool and you can use the washing machine, which is situated in the poolhouse, at any time
The surrounding area has plenty to offer.
We live in the Lot region, also known as the Quercy, better known as the Lot. We are part of the parish of Albas, a picturesque village with a baker and grocery shop. The closest big supermarket is in Prayssac, roughly 6 kilometres away.
The cities of Toulouse, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Cahors are certainly worth a visit. The same goes for the villages of Prayssac, Puy l’Eveque, Belaye, Penne-d’Agenais and Montcuq with its large well-known Sunday market. If you like bric-a-brac, then you can browse to your heart’s content in the various brocantes (second hand shops or markets) within the immediate area.

From the house you can take marvellous walks, the river Lot is there for swimming or canoeing and there are many good cycle routes (strong calves sometimes needed).
Lots of space for artistic inspiration.

In the immediate vicinity you will find several nice restaurants which serve delicious local dishes.
For the wine-lover there are great wines to taste, virtually unknown outside France.
You can visit most of the vineyards and wine châteaux and buy your wine there.
In the gîtes we have provided a well-filled wine rack, so you can drink some fine wines for a small charge.
As mentioned, the fridge is filled with a range of snacks, so you don’t have to worry about going to the supermarket straight away.
Our ”ladies” (the chickens) take care of your egg supply.
