| La Chaulourie is a traditional french house in private grounds of 800 square meters. It is situated on the top of a hill with stunning uninterupted views of a river valley and has recently been refurbished to provide a comfortable home whilst retaining much of it’s original charm. The ground floor consists of a comfortable lounge & dining rooom with a wood burning stove in an open fire place. A sofa bed is available in the lounge to increase the sleeeping capacity tfrom 10 to 12. The stove can also be used as an indoor barbecue if desired. (wood is included in the rental price). The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath and shower and a separate toilet. There is a ground floor double bedroom and a ’childrens bedroom’ with 4 single beds. Upstairs is a second living room equipped with a satelite TV, DVD and video players, a selection of DVD’s and Videos are provided. The first floor also has a further 2 double bedrooms, one of which has an adjoining shower room and toilet. Garden furniture and an outdoor barbecue area are provided.

Historical Attractions - The stunning medieval cities of Rennes, St Malo, Dinan and the ’Gateway to Brittany’ Fougeres, are all within 1 1/2 hours by car.
Activities - There is a local water sport park for children, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an acquarium, golf, fishing, canoeing, and cycling. The ferries for the Channel Islands leave from the port of St Malo (an hour away) the crossing to Jersey takes just 1 1/4 hours by ferryor 20 minutes by plane from the local airport Dinard.
Beaches - Normandy is of course famed for the D Day landings and these beaches are easily accessible. They form only a small part of the numerous spacious sandy beaches that dominate the coast, some are reserved for swimming, others foe water sports. The nearest sandy bathing beach to the house is 30 minutes by car.
