| In the heart of Lauragais is ‘En Reynes’ a new Gîte first available for rentals in July of 2004. The owners completely renovated and refurbished the Gîte themselves space designed with a corner kitchen. The kitchen has a stove, a small oven, a refrigerator and dishwasher. Pots, pans, utensils, toaster, coffee maker etc., everything you will need is there. In the living room is a double hideaway couch, a television and radio with many stations received by satellite (Astra, HotBird, Atlantic Bird). In one of the two bedrooms is a double bed and in the other are two single beds. The bathroom has a sink, shower and washing machine (also an iron and ironing board). The toilet is separate. Outside is a private garden about 500 m2 large. Next to the house is a parking lot and patio with a barbecue to use. Returning home from your daily excursions, you can dive right into the owners’ swimming pool (8m x 4m) to cool off!

| The location of our Gîte offers many possibilities for day trips and activities. Toulouse is less than 40 minutes away and Carcassonne can easily be reached by following picturesque back roads. On your way to the Pyrenees mountains you can stop and visit the castles of Catharen or while strolling through the nature reserve along the Minervois admire the huge ”gouffre de Cabrespine” or the caves of Limousis. If you still have time left, you can visit the Cathedral by Albi or the Museum of Toulouse Lautrec. A bit closer by, only 15 minutes, is the lake of Saint Ferréol where you can take nice walks or just relax. Or, after an active day out and about, why not enjoy a peaceful walk around the Vaux lake, only 3 minutes from the house? Another place worth visiting is the Pastel Museum where you can learn everything there is to know about the plant that became the source of riches for Lauragais.

| This quiet and peaceful region offers an enormous variety of things to do. You can take walks or bike rides along pretty places like the Canal du Midi or the Black Hills. The more sportive vacationer can go windsurfing at the lakes of Saint Ferréol or Guanguise. Just 5 kilometres from our Gîte you can play tennis or if you’re into science and technology, 30 minutes away in Toulouse you can visit the Space Centre.

| The most well known regional dish is called Cassoulet of Castelnaudary but you will also enjoy other delicacies like foie gras, preserved duck and others meats such as sausage from Toulouse. And even though there are no famous wineries close by, you can still discover and taste many wonderful wines from the region (Côtes du Frontonnais, Minervois, Vins de pays du Languedoc, Gaillac to name just a few). During your stay you will enjoy visiting many local town markets, particularly the one on Saturday morning in Revel which was recently classified as one of the 100 best French markets. For the true culinary art lover, there are many wonderful gourmet meals to have including one at a restaurant just 4 kilometres away which was awarded a Michelin star.

| Using the hideaway couch, the house can fit 6 persons. Household cleansers and bathroom amenities like soap and shampoo, as well as linens are included in the price. The rental period runs from Saturday 4 pm to the following Saturday 11 am. Please email us preferably in English or French rather than phoning because the English speaking landlord is often unavailable during office hours.
