1st floor
8 bedrooms and 1 library with 3 bed settees. 7 of the bedrooms are en-suite with their own shower, washbasin and WC. 2 bedrooms share a bathroom also containing a shower, washbasin and WC.
All beds are provided with sheets, blankets and pillows. Three of the bedrooms have French windows leading out onto a big east-facing balcony overlooking the valley below.

The gîte, surrounded by gardens, meadows, hedges and forest, is centrally situated on a 80 hectare biodynamic farm and about 200m from the farm buildings.
The north side of the domain goes to the tip of the Montagne du Plantaurel at an altitude of 600m with a wide view over the Pyrenean mountain tops and all the hills and valleys that precede it. The south side of the domain slopes down to the little river Lèze which borders the domain over approximately 1.3km. Rough footpaths lead you to and around the lake of Mondély.
The nearest shops are in the village of Le Mas d’Azil at a distance of 8km; you will find groceries, newspaper shop, photographer, 2 restaurants, a pizzeria, clothes shop, bicycle shop, a bank, a petrol station, a dentist, a doctor, a pharmacy, a swimming pool, a tennis court. It is very pleasant to walk through its ancient back streets and across the old stone arch bridge. Most impressive are the caves of Le Mas d’Azil. The main road to St. Girons follows the river Arize that flows through a huge natural tunnel carved away by the river. Le Mas d’Azil also has a long history of glass blowers. You can still find one here who practices the art.
Other pre-historic caves worthwhile visiting are:
- the caves of Lombrives, the largest cavern in Europe.
- Grotte de la Vache and the ones of Niaux and Bedeilhac with their cave paintings.
- also not far away is the long underground river of Labouiche.
The area is imprinted with the history of the Cathars. Discover the ruins of their castles that are in eye distance of one another on top of the mountains: Roquefixade, Montségur, Puivert, Puylorens, Peyrepertuse and Queribus.
The local markets of Pamiers, Foix, St. Girons, but also the ones of little villages like Le Carla Bayle, Montbrun Bocage are a delight - a real French experience.
