Our house A Lasserre is a “Maison de Maaitre from 1822, completely renovated back to its original condition but with all modern amenities. The stone walls and old beams give the house its authentic character which is evident immediately when you enter the house. And brings you back n time. We Mathy and Mattieu will welcome you and show you all the comforts, the peace and the beautiful surroundings. The house is split into two separate holiday homes. One holiday home is for two to three people and the other for two to four persons. On this page we will describe the holiday home for two to four guests. From the central entrance hall with its authentic staircase you enter the holiday home. The living room is in warm natural tints the enormous fireplace with a Jotul inglenook fireplace is the central point. The wood for the fire is supplied free of charge. Behind the living you enter the separate dining kitchen which has all modern amenities such as combi-microwave coffee machines a refrigerator with freezer and a dish washer. Attached there is the shower and toilet. The kitchen opens out to the garden. On the large terrace you can enjoy the garden and the magnificent views over the hills. The terrace has garden furniture a sunshade and comfortable lounger. The barbeque and wood burner complete the total. For the children there is a children’s pool and a sandbox
On the first floor there is a luxurious bedroom with walnut wooden floor and comfortable box spring mattresses the bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath and toilet. The second bedroom has two single beds. Due to the thick walls the house remains cool in te summer. On request a children’s bed or cot can be arranged. A baby bath and dressing cushion are also available. In the house there are games fro all ages, magazines and numerous Dutch books. For community use there is a washing machine.
Exterior
A Lassrre is a former manor with a large garden with fig, nut and plums. The house is as it were in the middle of fields, rape, sunflowers and magnificent hills determine the landscape. The hills with fields and the woods close by the mountains with the eternal snow it is as though you are part of a large painting. Like many of the departments Ger is named after the river that passes through its land. It is mainly an agricultural area the countryside is rolling wit the highest hill tops around 600 feet. In the old province of Armagnac also called Gascogne you have beautiful architecture with the crown the town of Auch. The old capital city of the Gers is well known for its Sint Maria cathedral from the 19th century and the bishops palace. In Auch Haute there are numerous shops and small restaurants where you enjoy the local specialities. Other places of interest are Marciac where you have the world renowned jazz festival Toulouse the pink city on the river Garonne and the largest pilgrimage town of Lourdes sat the foot of the Pyrenees this town is only 40 miles away. The mountains which provide the border between Spain and France offer everything mountain ranges should offer beautiful nature small groves broad views snow tops peaceful lakes etc. In the region there are even bears.
Things to do locally
This is a place for a true family holiday where the children can play in the large garden and enjoy a.o. the baby bath and the sandbox But the area also invites you to enjoy walking, mountain biking and cycling. In one of lakes you can swim fish and water cycle. It is an ideal region for bird watching and if you feel like something more adventurous you can hand glide and parachute gliding. There is also a golf course close by of 120 acres. In short something for everyone.

De Gers has many restaurants. Specialities such as Foie Gras Cofit de Canard and Magret de Canard are well known but also the local wines such as Madiran and St Mont are magnificent. If you decide to cook yourself the numerous markets in the area offer an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, wines and various sorts of cheeses
Other remarks
In the Maison de Maitre is a second accommodation to rent fro three people. Both accommodations are separated by the entrance hall, but you can of course rent the whole property which is ideal for two families. The accommodation for three is situated on the left side of the house . The living room annex dining kitchen (400 square feet) is cosy and completely furnished to a high standard. The new kitchen has all modern amenities and at the rear you can make use of a private garden. Due to its position it remains cool in the summer, and if you wish to sunbathe there is the sun terrace in the front where you can relax and enjoy the views over the mountains in the distance. The large bedroom (240 square feet) has a double bed and upon request a single bed can be placed in the room as well. The bathroom (100 square feet ) has a bath double wash basin toilet and a bidet.
